WHAT THE HECK IS POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) ANYWAY?!

I can tell you...it ain't fun! Seriously, POTS is bananas!

Here's what it means. A blood circulation disorder characterized by two factors: 1) A specific group of symptoms that frequently occur when standing upright 2) A heart rate increase from horizontal to standing (or as tested on a tilt table) of at least 30 beats per minute in adults, or at least 40 beats per minute in adolescents, measured during the first 10 minutes of standing. Thank you John Hopkins Medicine for that!

Orthostatic hypotension is a form of low blood pressure: 20mm Hg drop in systolic or a 10mm Hg drop in diastolic blood pressure in the first three minutes of standing upright. The dizzy's, super fast heart beat and nausea is "OUT OF THIS WORLD!"

So, anyways, among all the other service-connected conditions, I manage, this one is sooo unpredictable. One day I'm good, the next day I could be down and out for a few days. However, I've been learning how to workout with my POTS...how you ask? Very delicately honestly. I'll give some hints and tips to check out soon. Aside from the lack of blood flow, I get strenuous migraines due to doing HIIT or Kickboxing, so needless to say this has put a significant damper on my weight loss, SMH. As well as having chronic inflammation throughout my body, it makes training much harder and I'm like really???

I will say though it is still very POSSIBLE! Don't give up and keep striving forward because you can make it happen!

See ya next time ya'll.
